Privacy policy.

This statement sets out the broad terms of how we collect and use personal data in the course of our business using a variety of media and seeks to ensure that you understand what data we may hold, why and how it is used, and how you can maintain maximum control over it.

Data Protection requires that we understand and can communicate the data we hold about you and how we use your data. Some of the points below may seem obvious but we want you to be clear how widely some of your personal information is shared.

We store and share your personal information to deliver the services offered in our App, website and in store. Our App, Website, Point of Sale and Payment Systems, Email and Social Media sites are all hosted (That is provided by 3rd party suppliers). Each of these has been assessed to meet the Data Protection requirements in the UK. We use 3rd party postage and delivery suppliers who self-evidently will receive some of your personal information in the carriage of your goods or our communications.

We use Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard suppliers for all customer card transactions; online and in-store. Your card details are not stored by us. When we take your card details over the phone they are entered in to the payment card machine and processed immediately. They are not written down at any time.

  • This sort of information is held to conclude or perform a contract with you under the UK definitions of data protection, for example;
    to process a purchase, or a request for products and services

  • or to communicate over orders, returns, services.

  • If we have not asked for your consent to hold personal data then the only information we will maintain is that required in legitimate business practice and then only for the requisite period of time before deleting or destroying those records. Examples would be;

  • keeping a record of your customer service enquiry or a request for information

  • in order to maintain and analyse our website

  • to facilitate (via 3rd parties) the functionality of our website and mobile App. Our website and mobile apps use cookies & tracking to facilitate their operation and enhance your user experience (as an example; how the shop programme tracks your basket selection) and each has mechanisms to opt out of some or all of these.

Where we hold your personal details, (things such as name, address, products you have purchased, interest in events & promotions), we do so on the basis of having received your consent. On the basis of that consent we have also confirmed we may send you communication regarding products, events and promotions. You may ask for details of the records we hold for you and tell us if you believe they are inaccurate and you may opt out of some or all of these communications and ask us to delete your personal records at any time (with the exception of those we are required by law to retain for legitimate business practice).

Finally; owing to criminal activity we have sadly found it very necessary to install and operate CCTV inside our buildings. These record 24/7 and recordings are held for 1 month before automatic deletion. The only time this timescale may be extended is when the Police have requested we store a copy during a criminal investigation.

We do change and add new suppliers in the course of our business and you are welcome to ask for a list of the current suppliers that fall within the scope of this policy.
