Ugandan Coffee
Perfect for an intense (enough) espresso
When Italians began roasting coffee; it was common to roast together coffee beans from all over the world and they had little control over the consistency of the quality. They overcame this to create a consistent-tasting product by roasting till dark in colour so that any inconsistencies were obliterated (think properly burnt toast, it could be any bread…)
The Italians also popularised Espresso and Italian Roast as a simple way of saying “If you want an intense coffee experience, this is the way to go”.
Our Italian-style roast does not have the same challenges. We follow the tradition of using mixed beans (mainly Robusta) from mixed Origins (mainly Uganda) and only 3/4 roast the beans.
This creates an intense espresso with a strong taste & creamy body finished off with the slight bitterness we all love from an Italian-style roast.
