Sumatran Batak Coffee

£8.50

Spicy notes with hints of grapefruit & pipe tobacco

Sumatra Mandheling & Lingtong coffee is grown on the volcanic slopes of Mount Leuser near Port Padang in the Black region (west-central Sumatra). The name Batak refers to the farmers who developed a complex process called Giling Basah for hulling and drying the coffee in a series of steps that expose the beans to unique tropical influences.

With notes of fresh earth, tobacco, cedar, and cacao, this coffee has a naturally rich body and viscosity. It is diligently harvested by triple-picking the ripest fruit before sun-drying in small batches to concentrate the rich flavours of the region
